Great idea - been seeing this on some YouTube videos - isn't dependant on you always taking the same kit. Otherwise, putting patches on backpacks is of generations-old tradition. You could also put them on stuff sacks, on a bottom corner of a tarp or on the front of the thighs on trousers.
