    Unless the SLD Winter Haven XL (doors snap on each side) provides 5° of warmth over the HG Winter Palace the JRB fleece quilt liner makes THE difference under 30°.

    Hudson River quilt alone isn't cutting it for me in this particular scenario. I might try changing tarps tonight for one last test.

    Every night that it dips below freezing I have needed the additional coverage with the JRB fleece quilt liner.

    I always sleep well when I add the liner.

    It is adding at least 5° of warmth and significant comfort when wrapped underneath.

    Also...I have never seen Shug wear a single base layer under his TQs.

    He is always wearing multiple layers.

    I am only wearing a base layer.

    Sometimes I add a fleece parka but I have found that to be counter productive because I end up taking it off more often than not.

    I am not sure what clothes the quilt ratings are tested with.
