    Cool NJ > Batona Camp>11th Annual New Jersey Winter Hang>January 26th-28st, 2018

    11th Annual NJ Winter Hang
    When: Jan 26-28 2018
Where: Batona Camp, NJ Pine Barrens

    MAP, it's the MAP!

    Sign Up Sheet

    Reservations:

Due to the upcoming changes (thanks Coffee Man for the heads up) We will wait until the new system goes live or I'll swing by the ranger station this weekend to find out more info.

2 people/cars per site. Lets let the NJ residents reserve first as it's cheaper.

Reserving a site is just to help us out since we can't just reserve the whole camp as one. Site A(Group site) is the Kitchen/Campfire area. If you reserve a site, you may not even stay on it so don't worry about grabbing the few that are sparse with trees.

    Cost:
$10 for the weekend. Please see me to pay once you get settled.

If you reserve a site, see me to refund you the extra $$ you put out.

    Rules:

No Alcohol is allowed in the State parks.
    Travel coffee mugs are allowed...

There is a road that loops around the whole site and we need to keep that clear for the rangers to get around. Stopping to unload then moving to a final parking spot is acceptable.

There are camp limit signs, please try to have at least one end of your hammock inside the camp.

Tents are welcome but we ask that they be setup in places you couldn't setup a hammock. Tents also make a good storage location for stuff.

This is a drive in area, so you can bring extra stuff to stay warm. If you need anything, just ask before and people might help you out.

    Fires:

Last year was the first time we were allowed to keep a fire going throughout the day. Which was great, but I also think it hurt the size of the normal fire we have on Saturday night. We never really got it going good so this year I want to have a set person in charge of the fire. Preferably someone not cooking for Sat night dinner.

No, I want you to set a fire so goddamn big, the gods'll notice us again, that's what I'm sayin'. I want all of you boys to be able to look me straight in the eye one more time and say: ARE WE HAVING FUN OR WHAT?
Bonus points if you can name the movie.

    Raffle:

I am in need of someone who wants to organize and run the raffle. Message me on here and we will setup a time to talk. I just do too much running around and I don't feel like doing it this year.

    50/50:
This year I will be donating the proceeds to the Susan G Komen foundation. I had the privilege to support them by being on route safety this past year and will be back next.

    FOOD:

Saturday dinner is communal. Please think of something to contribute. You do not have to enter the contest(see below) to make something. You don't even have to cook. Bring paper plates, bowls, plastic ware, napkins, cups... you get the picture.

Rest of the time you are on your own. Some people make shareable food for breakfast but's it's a first come first eat type of thing.

Announcing the Annual Winter Hang Coup de grâce de grub.

It's time to dust off that cookbook, open pintrest or just buy wings from the Pic and try to win this years Coup de grâce de grub.

    Rules:
It can be served at anytime Friday or Saturday, but must be made for the group. Normally when my group goes hiking it's just the one item that makes everyone wish they thought of it. I'm changing that rule to make sure people can try it. I don't expect you to make enough for everyone at the hang, but it would only hurt your chances of winning if you didn't.

I will have voting cards and each entry will get a number. We will collect the cards and announce the winner at the fire after dinner on Saturday night.

I know I have forgotten something, more to come later.

    Can't wait to see everyone!

Just a heads up, the Reserve America site goes offline Oct 13, the NJ system will not be live until December (at best). There will be a blackout period for reservations.
