What did you do to your hammock today?

I have seen and started threads like this in other forums, and they usually end up taking on a life of their own and collecting a lot of great input on mods and things. I searched and didn't see one, so I thought I'd start. If this already exists elsewhere, please disregard.

Today I received a whole bunch of new DutchWare gear, and replaced my HH suspension with CLs for use with Beetle Buckles. I pulled some extra CLs into each end of the hammock for an as yet undecided purpose... and I marked the seams with safety pins for ZQ at 2QZQ to add some D-rings inside. I'll get my HH Classic off this week for some zip mods.

You're going to love the 2QZQ zipper mods! Donna does terrific work!

Today I stared at it longingly, but yesterday I did some tweaks to my tarps after getting back from the fall hang here. Tensioners to the guy lines, and adding some Dutch bling to the ridgelines.

On my hammock specifically, I replaced a black continuous loop with a green one because I had extra green Amsteel from making new straps and loops for my girlfriend's new hammock. I've also worked on some guy lines for the side pullouts on my new Superfly. I went with the suggested 12 ft line on both pullouts to a 6 ft line that will be staked. What I've done that I haven't noticed online yet is to connect the 12 ft line to the 6 ft line with a prussic so that my side pull outs adjust the same as the rest of my tarp lines.

Yesterday I ordered some Dutch bling and shock cord. My new cheapo hammock is hanging just outside the door so I can try out new things with it. Today I've adjusted the height of the tree huggers and now I'm wondering how in the world people can get comfortable lying diagonally. Doesn't the quilt determine the width? For tomorrow, I discovered that my UQ, a Sierra Sniveler, is not warm enough for 22 degrees so I'm thinking ........

Emmigrant, your feet and outside shoulder will sort of pull the quilt around to accomodate a diagonal lay, but you unwittingly make a point: a quilt does degrade the comfort of a hammock, albeit slightly.

I thought so very much about setting mine up in the yard and hanging out for a bit... but making dinner and life got in the way. Boooo. It'll happen tomorrow. Dinner can wait until Wednesday.

I threaded a better length of bungee into the ends of the Hugge Hugger UQ, added a couple pull-puts to a tarp, and finished putting snaps on a piece of dark purple ripstop that will be used on a hammock to block the glare from a streetlight...
