A great big shout out to Tim for putting this together and all attendees! This was my son's and mine first hang and we had no idea what to expect. We had such a great time we are scheduling time off for the Great Pumpkin hang!
Also a big shout out to the Rangers for keeping the grounds in impeccable condition and even helping out with a wood delivery!
Very glad we attended and look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

I ended up not taking that many photos, but I did earn a new trail name. Had a great time relearning some skills, especially the map and compass stuff. Lots of great food, and too many apples

This is how I got the hangtime hook to work on my Ridge runner. I sewed 2 buttons about 2 feet apart on the net and ran some Zing it between them. Holds up the phone alright as long as the shock cord at the head end is either run to the tree or to the rings on a cloudburst. You do have to tighten the shock cord a bit to keep it from sagging too much. It might also help the sag to run the ridgeline all the way between the two attachment points of the shock cord, or move the buttons closer together. More testing is needed.

I almost didn't make it to this hang but everything fell into place just in time and I am so glad it did.

This was my daughter Samantha's first hang/first night sleeping in a hammock and she loved it!
I owe a big thanks to the whole group for being so welcoming, helpful and generous. From helping rig up our tarp and UQ's, to playing Dweebies, to sparking(pun intended) a 7 year old's interest in fire (thanks Tim!), the balloon animals, the glow sticks and of course the food! We had a wonderful time and are both looking forward to the next hang.

I would have liked to track down some of those giant trees and to have fully attended the classes, hopefully next time.

Thanks for putting all this together, we really appreciate it!

    -Dave
