While his tarps are a thing of beauty, his service is lacking, very lacking. He has never answered any of the emails I have sent him over the years. I did finally order a tarp from him but it was listed as being in stock, got it after two weeks.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I had a similar positive experience around the same time. I don’t think my OES tarp is necessarily better than most (I use a warbonnet MJ now) but after riding out some crazy storms under the Maccat, it will always have a special place in my heart

I would like to see an update from the OP, did you ever get a refund, did you ever receive a tarp?
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

I still have a McCat Deluxe on my backup hammock set. I bought it second hand from an ultralite hiker so I didn't go through any ordeal to get it. All in all it is a quality made product despite what i hear about customer service. I highly recommend the tarps if you can find them from other sellers.

OES used to be the standard for tarps on here. Many who've tuned out for a couple years would easily recognize that name, having missed all the bad press after the kid graduated college.

    Def stay away.

It looks like Coyoteyodledog just made a single post back in September 2017.

coyotetodledog states the tarp was paid for in the Spring. So if the June statement showed the tarp payment, the dispute would need to be filed within 30 or maybe 60 days. September was probably out of the dispute time limit.

On my credit hard I have 30 days after the date of the bank statement on which the disputed charge is made.

The O.P. I believe, let a few months pass before he/she took action.

I too, from back in the earlier days (2010-2011) bought OES tarps. I use a MacCat Deluxe, & MacCat Ultra. Great tarps. I still use them regularly.
Good information on the current lack of customer support, for future purchases. Good to see other competitors offering similar and possibly better options to keep dry.
Live & learn I guess. Thank you for the heads-up...

Good to know... I've had OES bookmarked for years & had considered upgrading my HH tarps with MacCat's. But since I purchased Chameleon's with companion tarps, the HH's are in my gear closet as backups and I'm no longer in a hurry to upgrade. Plus, as one poster noted, there are so many more options to choose from these days.

If you have the patience he will make a great tarp for you. He is a hobbyist and has no staff and makes tarps as a side business. I have the Mac cat ultra and love it but I wouldn’t necessarily buy from OES again or recommend
them due to the fact that there’s no way to check up on status of the order and the overall lack of communication on the part of Brian to his paying customers . Many other quality vendors to buy from that will provide great products and provide great service.
