Continuous ridgeline or split ridge....that is the question.

So another successful summer of hammock camping down. I'm pretty happy with my setup with exception to my tarp. The tarp is fine, but the set up could use a tweak or 2. I'm using the Dutch continuous ridge, which is awesome. But I'm using a soft shackle prussic to attach my tarp to the ridgeline. I don't like dealing with those small shackles(opening and closing them). I was looking at the Tato Tarp Connectors https://dutchwaregear.com/tato-tarp-connectors.html to eliminate the shackles, but now I'm wondering if flyz or stingers aren't the way to go with a split ridge. Any suggestions?

I'm a easy, trouble free kind of guy. so its gotta be simple and dependable. I also hang in tight spots quite a bit, so I need something without a lot of slack. which is the reason I originally started rethinking the Tato connectors. They look kind of long.

Now I feel silly for posting this.
After the search,Think I'm gonna try a split ridge with dutch stingerz.
Unless someone has a **** good reason not too. only down side I see is possibly over tightening

I love the split ridgeline, personally. It only takes one time centering your tarp to know how much overhang you should have on each side of your hammock. Once you've seen it, you can just set up the first side of your tarp with that amount of overhang, and your tarp will always be centered over your hammock. No further adjustment needed.

If you use stingerz, just make sure you have plenty of line on each end to reach them- if you ever have to use large trees or trees spaced further apart. I use Flyz- which allow me to slide them up and down the line- depending on tree spacing and/or tree girth. Wasps are also good.

I'm still waiting for my first tarp to arrive...I'm a total newbie so take my thinking accordingly. I loved the simplicity of the Stingerz for the split ridgeline and almost went that way but decided to go with two Wasps for exactly the reason above. I've got a Ridgerunner which will usually take a slightly longer tree spacing. I didn't want to have to go around the tree and always come all the way back to the tarp. I like the idea of being able to slide the Wasp along the line and tie off closer to the tree. If it ends up not working well, I'll probably try the Stingerz.

I like that idea too. permanent loop on 1 end of your line larks headed to your tarp. I'd probly go with Flyz though, just cause they accomplish same thing for less money

I used end only with Dutch's wasps(100+ nights). You can over tighten using hardware but as long as you are cautious of this all the hardware works great and its super easy to set up take down.

I have two CRL's, one with prussics and one with Tato devices. I like them both, but I find myself using a split RL most of the time. Tarp wasps on each end of the tarp. No tangles. Easy tweaks. I am lazy.
