170916 Cohutta Wilderness Hike (or, that time I caught a rattlesnake)

My wife and I went on a short day hike in the Cohutta Wilderness (N GA) recently, planning on a relaxing day and nice little mid-day hammock nap. Things went mostly as planned with one glaring exception...

Here's the companion blog article that gives a little more detail about the whole event...

    It was a great day!

Good report Johnspenn, thanks. Regarding the rattlesnake....bro, I'm not trying it at home or anywhere else! The fangs could be used as tiny toggles!

John, it was that snakes lucky day. In my world the only good snake is a dead snake and that one would have not had a good day. Why would you take that risk?

Haha, you can't plan these things, it just turned out that way =) I'll have to consider #snakewrangler for a trail name!

I give a lot more detail in my blog post, TS. Reader's Digest version:
    1. I like snakes.
    2. It's the snake's home and we're just visitors.
    3. It was the best option for the snake and the scouts.
    4. I really wanted to and thought it was cool =)
