    First Trip Report

We hiked from Ebbett's Pass to Sonora Pass from August 26th - 31st. That's S/B on the PCT in California talk and it's about 31 miles. My pedometer clocked 33.3 miles, though, because I took a lot of little mincing steps down the steeps.

The sky was never that clear Sierra blue, alas, so I didn't get a pic of my hammock against the azure.

I did find a good hang every night, deployed the skeeter net and draped the tarp strategically so I could grab it fast. It sprinkled every morning.

On the last day, we hiked by Wolf Creek Lake which appears to have good trees for a hammock. We may go back next year.

And then down, down, down the arid volcanic shoulder of Sonora Peak to the Pass.

This wasn't the most gorgeous trip in the Sierra and these are not the best trip pictures but it's the first time I figured out how to post.

    Well, if it works.

Good job on your first trip report. That looks like a very beautiful and diverse area to hike in.

Looks lovely. Nice views. I much prefer photo trip reports than video.

    What bugnet is that?

It's a Warbonnet. I'm sure you noticed that it is hung in a bizarre way, on its own ridgeline way above the hammock. I needed it out of my face so I could see the stars. Plus, I haven't figured out if I want a ridgeline on my hammock, so I figured I'd work it this way until I make that move. It's very effective at keeping out skeeters and on this trip, it held up the sylnylon tarp, too, when it sprinkled.
