Using the Becket Hitch to attach suspension to Hammock

I got my new Sparrow in the mail a few days ago and was finally able to set it up.
Using the becket hitch with the mule tape seems like it's going to be my "go to" suspension method.
It was quick and easy to dial it in to the proper height and angle.
My biggest concern was being able to untie it easily once the hitch was loaded. I tried to put as much weight on the hitch as possible, and I was still able to undo it with little resistance.
I'm wondering if that's because of the mule tape?? Maybe the material it's made out of makes it slide out easy.
I'll keep testing it, but this system looks like a keeper.

I might throw on a pair of Dutch Clips to make wrapping the tree easier, other than that, I'm a huge fan of this system.

I use cheap HF straps. If the loose end of the strap isn't wanting to pull through, I will grab both slides of the "slippery loop" and jerk it toward the tree. This usually de-loads it enough to allow me to pull the loose end of the strap freely.

Great tip. I'll keep it in mind if it gets stuck!!

When I tie a becket hitch with 1” poly straps it seems to slip frequently. I have to tie an overhand knot with the loop to feel safe.

I've found that if you pull your cl's with your index finger and use your other hand to tie the becket hitch it wont need to slip to tightness very much. I like using a slippery truckers hitch on one end for adjustments too.

I agree. I find the knot hardly slips when I do this, and tighten the knot from the slippery bight of the hitch before putting any load on the hammock.
