Myerstech Hammock Labs 2" tree straps with daisychaing

I tested these nifty little straps from Myerstech on an overnight hang in the LBJ Grasslands.

My first impression were "wow, these are light". At 2" around the tree they meet with the new rule for Texas Wildlife and Parks.

Im not actually sure of the fabric around the tree but it was done in a cool looking camo pattern.

The daisy chain itself is 1k lb dyneema and while it made a slight creaking noise under weight (as opposed to my atlas straps), i didnt experience any noticeable stretching.

The loops seem slightly long (at 7 3/4"), for on-the-fly adjustments but daisy chains are what they are. Nothing that can't be accounted for by going back to the tree.

Overall the weight, compact size and supercool look of these things make them a win for this type of rig.

    Those ripstop treeshuggers are interesting.
    From Jeff's facebook page,
Ripstop tree huggers 2 inches wide, lighter than dyneema/ Kevlar
Made with 0.9 Ounce rip stop fabric. The strap weighs only 0.1 ounce per foot and will support at least 400 hammock occupant.

    Nice.
I am a fan of his pre-installed soft shackles system, excellent.
