I attach a clip with prussik, a la Hennessy. I don't use it for my tarp, but for just a utility clip.

    Useful in many ways!

I use a small piece of 1/2" grosgrain. Fold it over one side of the adjustable loop and run a stitch. Won't break, lightweight, slides up and down and prevents the loop from pulling in on itself.

Zip tie (Cable tie) is waterproof, no stitching required, slides easily, available anywhere, inexpensive, removable with a small screwdriver, ......

    I kinda like the knot.

That said, I've never put a bead on a whoopie sling loop. I guess I should go buy some beads that'll fit over 7/64 Amsteel. And retrofit my slings, in some way.

Do the zipties not have hard, potentially sharp edges?

Another ziptie guy. I always use them and just carefully cut them flush. Quick, easy, cheap.

It is very easy to smooth/file/sand the plastic if there are any sharp edges, but I do not see plastic cutting Amsteel.

Nice write-up. I understand why you'd want a bead or some sort of stopper, but to be honest, I've never closed the loop up so far that I'd loose it. That being said, watch me lose it next time I use it!
