Video: Patvinsuo National Park in Finland

I have a new hammock backpacking video coming up and this time it's all about bogs and mires. It's also a mixed bag of English and Finnish, so I created subtitles for both languages.

Your descriptions of the Patvinsuo terrain prompted me to look up the meanings of mire, bog, fen, marsh and swamp. Here in Wisconsin, we have bogs, fens, grassy marshes, and hardwood swamps to go along with all of our ponds, lakes and rivers. Thanks for taking us along on your hike.

Thanks for the comments, folks. I enjoy reading the few that I do get.

Interesting details about IR3535 is that it isn't harmful to aquatic organisms and doesn't accumulate in the environment. I don't know how DEET or permethrin act and as it's very rare over here.

I honestly still can't remember all the subtle differences between all the swamps.
