    Lightweight Hammock Lantern

I've seen the 5hr energy bottle used this way but with larger pen lights. I rigged this using a small switched LED thumb light by drilling a small hole in the lid of the bottle that provides a friction fit to the bulb. The lantern provides a nice ambient glow that I am able to read by and I am not thrown into a seizure by the bounce of a non-diffused LED when moving in the hammock.

I did the same thing with the same light using a ping-pong ball... worked great!

Ah, a ping pong ball is even lighter. I'll have to try that!

    Lightweight Hammock Lantern

I really like my Black Diamond Orbit. I've had it for a few years and it always go with me. 3 ounces + the AAA batteries.

Solar powered Luci lights. They are great. I think Lowes HI centers started selling them. Or find em on Amazon.

Small key chain flash light link.

You can search for 'small key chain flashlight' and may find better pricing. I certainly did not pay that a few years ago. The batteries are replaceable with CR types.

I'm hoarding a few of this basic type from a few years ago that I prefer because they have a full button-clicky on the side...push to light/push-to-click for steady on, instead of the thumbnail click.
The thumbnail ones are harder to turn on/off if they are already in the diffuser.
