An amped-up hammock sock of sorts.
I still would rather pitch my tarp.

I was thinking if I were backpacking "fast and light" this would be a great alternative to a lightweight bivy. I agree tho - you lose something without a tarp

Interesting idea but I see other possible issues with it..
Air as insulation ?
Water being able to leak in thru the ends
Being made of water proof material and not breathable there is good chance of condensation build up inside
If it is raining and you need to get in or out of the hammock then everything is going to be exposed to the rain

I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Really neat concept, but I like my setups to be more versatile. That looks like a sweatbox.

Seems like a super cool and innovative idea, but it unfortunately will be essentially worthless on its own. Perhaps it could be used in conjunction with a small ultralight tarp to keep the rain off for midnight tinkle runs in the rain.... but a fully integrated bivy with bottom insulation that doesn't touch? I don't see it getting down to 30*. I could be wrong and I wish them the best. But I won't be kicking in on the kickstarter.

Glorified Hammock Sock might crash--
Or might be used in addition to your other gear in extreme windy wet and cold weather--or maybe not--if there are problems with condensation?
And what would be better about this sock as compared to socks made by experienced cottage vendors?
I used my WildernessLogics sock during a windy windy snowstorm with a low of 5 degrees.
It really helped keep wild wind at bay, there was frozen condensation on inside of sock in morning.
And I've not had a need for it since then--even though it helped a lot with fierce wind. My tarp was set up too.
Without the sock--hammock would have gotten lots of wind blown snow.
I reckon it did its job!
