    New hanger in DE....

    Hi all,
I'm a noob hanger from the little state of Delaware (Jersey born and raised tho)...

First - Thank you all for this forum and your posts. The site has been very helpful as I've tried to figure all of this stuff out (and continue to try to figure all of it out)...equipment, how-to, etc.

Second - Just wanted to introduce myself --- so I'm not feeling like a stalker lurking in the background and just reading the forum posts.

I haven't camped in about 20 years - but remember liking it.
I hung out in a hammock one afternoon at someone's house and absolutely loved it. Decided to get one for myself for the back yard for relaxing - and then found out that lots of people hammock camp - and it kind of snowballed from there.

Over July 4th weekend I tried camping out in my backyard using a hammock stand since there aren't really any really good trees in my yard and I haven't put posts up yet. Had some issues with setting up a tarp and trying various methods to reduce/eliminate CBS.
Learned a lot that weekend... I'm making a 2nd attempt next weekend at one of the state parks here. Looking forward to it with great anticipation.

    So - Hello to everyone!

Welcome from Northern Arkansas! Trial and error teaches us a lot, but as TrailSlug said, ask any questions, this is a great place to figure some things out! Enjoy the hang!

Welcome to the forums! My lightweight, low cost CBS insurance is a 18" by 24" piece of Reflectix. If I just can't get rid of the CBS by adjusting my underquilt, I slide it in between the hammock and underquilt. Ahhhh...warmth!

It's also a pretty good sit pad.

Welcome from PA. What part of NJ did you grow up in? I spent my first 22 in Belmar.
