Hex tarp sil poly worth the extra$?

Me and my wife are looking to buy new tarps to replace our diy tarps we made a few years ago. Looking at the UGQ hex tarps in a 12ft RL. Only question is is the sil poly worth the extra money over the sil nylon? Let me know what you think.

For me yes. The silPoly absorbs less water and is lighter but not quite as strong as silNylon. SilNylon also stretches a bit when wet. Most vendors are moving to silPoly if that helps.

I just got my silpoly hanger 12 from UGQ, I absolutely love it!

I had a different brand of tarp made of silnylon and it was ok, I just wasn't impressed when it came to stretching or how much it absorbed even on a heavy dew morning. Very pleased with my new tarp. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you hurry, they still have a sale going and at them prices you can't justify not trying it. It's s heck of a deal, but get it quick, I believe the sale ends very soon.

My new UGQ Winter Dream is SilPoly and I really like the fabric for the weight and feel.

Great stuff. A little lighter but the main benefit is less sag when wet as others mentioned. Not to be confused with initial stretch, which it does. But that's a good thing, letting you get a nice taut pitch like you're used to with silnylon. It also allows for a bit of slop when setting up (pull one corner tighter, uneven ground, awkward angle, etc). This totally replaced cuben for me; not even a thought in the back of my mind now (and they're always gear in the back of my mind)

So I pulled the trigger on two 12 hex tarps. one in blue and one in olive. Stoked!

You won't regret it IMHO. Excellent choice. I got dark olive with blaze orange trim.
