    PA > Minister Creek ANF > 8/25-27

Hey all. Thought I'd post up another opportunity to get together and hang in the piney woods. I'm planning on coming back down Friday morning August 25th. Leaving some point on Sunday. I won't have a fishing license this time. Just some loligagin and maybe if the body is up for it a bit of a hike.

I'm glad to see you liked the area! That was my original intention, to show folks we have great local places to go camping. Unfortunately, we'll be at the Jamestown Celtic Fest in Mayville NY that Saturday, gotta get my kilt on

Maybe...if you don't make fun of my homemade stuff...and if I remember.Am doing anothr section of the Chuck Keiper Trail down by Renovo next weekend. Did 17 miles 2 weeks ago and the rocky trail kicked my butt! Also on that first day wondered about a noise I heard on a section of the trail...2 rattlesnakes at 7' and 8' with one coiled on a log at hip heighth. Never heard one before.
Just writing it down on the calendar and something to do Sat. morning so would be noonish on Sat when could be down.

Say What?!? Rattlers in PA! I didn't know that. I had a 12ft Burmese Python so normally not afraid of snakes but a rattler would probably freak me out.

PA has more dens then any state on east coast. The old loggers path is loaded with them .

agreed, we've seen many in the ANF. Never had a problem though, they always tried to get away as fast as they could. Just watch where you step, especially when crossing logs, and be careful gathering fire wood.

By Warren (Youngsville) the largest wintering rattlesnake den east of the Mississippi is located, think it's on a game lands.

I might be interested in coming Friday evening - Saturday if my schedule is free. Long range weather looks good. Where do you plan to set up? South of the parking area?

Yes, weather should be great. 70's in the day and 50's at night. Couldn't ask for more in August.
Yes, South of the parking. Hope you can make it.

Think I'll try to make it up for this.
