    Video: Porcupine Mountains - MI

Took a trip in July to the Porcupine Mountains to hike a loop over 4-5 days. It was only after we hiked the loop did we realize that we hiked the loop backwards to what most people do. The Porcupine Mountain sites filled up so fast in July it made planning our site difficult. Still, we persisted. Beautiful area for those in the UP Michigan area. That is some pretty scenery.

It was a great trip despite the blisters and the massive rainstorm.

Nice trip report. One of my favorite places in the world. I admire your courage to take it on in mid summer (crowds, bugs). Come back sometime in the fall, no bugs, less people and the colors get amazing.
Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.

Absolute worst part of the trip. Couldn't relax outside the hammock unless you were covered up.

We didn't realize how popular it was until we got there. I agree, the fall might be the better time to visit it. We want a chance to stay at the Shining Cloud Falls Campsite, that is absolutely gorgeous!

Very cool video. The Porkies are on my list of places to make it to in the near future. I've never been, but I've heard it's really nice. Your video just lit a fire under my butt.
