    SLD Trail Haven Tarp

Just received my SLD 12' Trail Haven Tarp. Thank you SLD!
Has anyone mentioned that Jared does awesome work?

Royal Blue and Orange to match my Trail Lair Hammock.
Added an internal pole mod, to see how I like it. I have external pole mods on other tarps, and was curious to compare.

    Super lightweight and packable.

    Standard Setup.

    Details. Always Great.

    Poles.

    Modded Setup.

As usual, craftsmanship is top notch. Jared makes sure everything is done right and goes out of his way to make each item unique. Just check out the pole bag! All colors and materials matched or complimentary. Tarp came seam sealed. There are pole pockets at the tie outs, and ribbon ties to locate the poles at the ridgeline.

I'll have to wait until I get this out for an overnight to evaluate the internal pole mod. I think it will be fine for providing extra space and shade. The immediate difference I notice from the external mod is the poles are located closer to the ends. This setup is probably the lightest with the poles as short as possible, yet still functional. I'm just curious how well it will handle rain. If I had to do again, I might go for longer poles, and move the ribbon ties about a foot closer to middle on each side, but I predict the current setup will be fine.

Very happy with my Trail Haven. Will update next week when I take it for an overnight.

Hey, that's a great looking tarp. Looks very similar to one I just made. Aside from the perfect sewing and professional quality of yours.

Love the pole mod! And that color combo pops.

Can you stake it tight to the ground with the pole mod?

Sure can. Creates more of that arch shape.
This highlights my earlier comment about the pole location. External poles are located closer to the center.
This will work fine, but I may switch the continuous ridgeline to run UNDER the tarp and see how that looks. Then add some water breaks to prevent water dripping under the tarp. The ridgeline tie outs may suffice, but I like redundancies!

Thanks! It is meant to sit (hang) with this bad boy, so I am pretty excited with how it all turned out.

That is a snazzy tarp! Congratulations. My Trail Haven has served me well, and it's probably my most prized hammock tarp. I bring it even when I don't think I am going to need it, stowed at the ready in matching SLD Quick Fly sleeves...

Thanks! Got the Quick Fly Sleeves as well, just didn't want to post too many pics. Intended this purely as a summer tarp, but I can see carrying it everywhere. It's so light and should serve a variety of needs. Will just switch to the setups with doors when the weather gets crazy!

    Thanks Alkali and TrailDaze.
(not sure how to reply with multiple quotes?!?!)
