Hard to find Amsteel in Sweden?

From what I can find Amsteel is just one producer or a brand whereas Dyneema is the name of the material.

Hjertmans, is a boat/sail shop that sells dyneema by the meter.
They are located in several coastal cities from Sundsvall to Göteborg

Went to the shop in Bromma, bought 20 meters, got home, re-measured it, turns out I got 22 meters

Now I have 2 really long whoopie slings, 2 continous loops and 2 soft shackles and about 6 meters of spare cord.

How much is the meter? Import taxes in switzerland make it far too expensive

prices as of aug 3 2017

not sure if this is considered expensive or not

    3mm: 12 SEK / meter (1.42 CHF or 1.25 €)
    4mm: 18 SEK / meter (2.15 CHF or 1.88 €)
    5mm: 28 SEK / meter (3.35 CHF or 2.92 €)

Not sure if they are shipping though.

Looks like I need to visit a certain northern country sooner than was planned.

Those are much better prices than what I have seen online. Much much better

Isn't the price for 25ft amsteel from Dutch 5.5usd? That's around 46SEK for 7,6m, which is around 6SEK/m. Even with shipping and customs I think that's probably a better deal.

I'd like to say that I'm really bad with numbers, though, so you would be wise to double check my math

Multiply your price by 2 and you have cost + shipping. Multiply by 4 and yoy have cost, S&H and import taxes.

We have to pay a base import tax of chf 13.00 and then an import tax on volume and an import tax on weight.

Either that or someone at customs is scamming me.

I did some more maths, and I get 7/64 amsteel from dutch at 8,5NOK/m with shipping. If the cost of the package and shipping is less than 350NOK there is no tax, otherwise there is an additional 25%. I think the swedish import rules are similar.

    I won't because I doubt you're worse than I am with numbers

But on the plus-side, I got the dyneema the same day I found it and I could buy it in any length I wanted.
The rolls they had looked like they packed 500m (1640ft).. now that would make two seriously long whoopies
