Dyneema webbing - Dutch vs. Myers vs. ?

    Hi guys,

I'm pondering on getting some Dyneema webbing as suspension. Anyone has a direct comparison of the Dutch and the Myers one?
The ladder is supposed to be woven tighter, making it more durable - yet what's the result in weight difference?
Also, Dutch webbing can't be used with spiders or such. How about Myers as the webbing structure is different?

And lastly - is there another Dyneema webbing I'm not aware of?

    Thanks!

I don't have any of Dutch's but I do have some of Myers. I haven't tried it with spiders but pretty sure that's not going to work so well. It can work ok with cinch bugs but seems to better yet with beetle buckles, however, you need to be extremely vigilant to make certain the webbing is perfectly centered and square etc.. It does NOT play well with the ss cinch or ti cinch type of buckle.

There was a thread covering this about 2 months ago.

Dyneema webbing - Dutch vs. Myers vs. ?

The Dutch stuff is 2 grams per foot, the Meyers tech is 2.4 grams per foot. The Dutch stuff is also about double the price. From the pictures I've seen, the Dutch stuff is a looser weave. I have the Meyers stuff, but I use it with a becket hitch. I did try it with BIAS strap anchors and they didn't hold.

I have two of his dyneema straps with his large diameter (I forget exactly what size but they are huge 4900# break strength I believe he said) amsteel grapplers hitches. I have hung a few times on them and they hold great. I'm 6' and 275# for reference.

I just ordered some of the 3/16 dyneema Jeff linked in the videos. Now I just need to learn how to do the knot correctly. I enjoy rope work so who knows if this will turn into a true side hobby for me...
