An easy fix is a continuous loop larksheaded around the hammock midpoint...use that to keep the hammock off the floor when stored. Eezy peezy.

I am using the manufacturer length. Not the ridgeline. I wasn't planning on using a ridgeline in my office since this particular hammock will only be used in my office and not moved tree to tree. That's why I want to get my Hang right the first time.
Thanks to everyone who posted. I have several great new ideas and measurements to verify and a way to test the height before drilling. I'm grateful for your help. I'll post a picture when it's up. Cheers!
