Mooseman, this will be my first Thursday at Yates, if I get my carcass going. There have always been a few hammock pros there on Thursdays in Yates past. And whatever your noodle decides to eat will be what you got--and there is the usual horse trading--

There will be prizes for judges and top three finishers in each event:
Purdy Boil Contest
Lightning Strike fast hammock&tarp&insulation setup
Knot tie--you choose your own knots
You will not be timed on setup!
Your knots must support judges weight. After judge has sat on or stood on your rope between two trees.
You will be timed--un tie all your knots.
Mooseman maybe you can locate an oddsmaker--to set the odds, just for fun--not that anyone would gamble with anything other than Monopoly money.
If your knots fail to hold the judge--you are at the mercy of the court--Judges decisions are final

April Yates was our first organized / disorganized hang beyond scouts and hands down the best! PG is a great host! Matt and I will be down from NJ. The plan is Thursday noon. Any special requests? Taylor ham is on the menu. Need to think about pot luck. I tend to melt faces with my chili. I am really looking forward to this getaway.

Was that the spring forward hang when it snowed the last morning? Maybe that was a different time?
My first and only time so far was last fall. (Missed the spring because of work). We had Great weather (a little cool but hey, It's Fall...) No bugs lol
Thurs Nov 2nd is looking good so far for going early but will prob know more on the weather forecast closer to Halloween and then make the final call.
