    Is it a natural progression?

    How did this happen?

I started with a 9ft cheapo hammock from Amazon.

I now have 7 hammocks, 2 Gemini quilt systems, a 10 degree TQ/UQ setup, 3 ridgeline organizers, baby hammocks, stuff sacks galore, multiple stove setups, water filtration smorgasbord, 5 tarps, campsite coffee grinder, dry baking setup, etc, etc, etc.

How did it come to this?

And why? do I have the desire to try every type of fabric ever made for hammocks in every imaginable length?

There should be a disclaimer on Shug videos and on the front page of this site.

I DONT KNOW!!! I have the same progression.

I have everything I need... Yet... I want a new hexon 1.0 hammock, and a new tarp. Why? Because.

I also want to change the hammock body of my Boone Sheltowee! Why? Because comfy.

I have 5/6 sets of straps... why? I DONT KNOW!!! :S

    I love hammock forums <3
    I'd rather be hanging.

the diy alcohol stoves was my personal rabbit hole

I've spent more time watching videos of people testing water boil than I'd ever like to admit

for the hammocks, I first saw a pic of an Amok, fell in love, and that's what I went with, after seeing 100 other Shug/xtrekker/sintax, etc vids it just made me more determined to go that route

I know for sure I'll expand to some GE at some point tho!

I went on a buying and selling spree for a while. It finally stopped all of a sudden...and lasting. Now it's time to sell off the rest!

Sometimes it's just nice to try things out, even if what you have already works perfectly.

It's definitely a lot cheaper than many other hobbies.

And you get to interact with a lot of really decent folks.

I must be doing it wrong, cause looking at the prices of hammocking, and camping in general, it's not cheaper than much!

granted, we get whacked with the Canadian Tax here

Luckily I don't have the money to fall into that rabbit hole, but man oh man if I did. So far I have a 9ft cheapo hammock, snugpak TQ/UQ, a bear butt tarp, and a chill gorilla tarp. Looking into getting a silnylon tarp soon but can't justify the $ since I don't get to camp/hike as often as I'd like. I have found another way. I buy hammocks and setups for my daughters. It helps feed the beast without upsetting the boss lady.

I only have the 2 tarps because I bought them both to see if I liked the hex or diamond configuration better. I tried to return the bear butt, but they just said keep it name down gave my money back. So, my daughter uses the hex and I use the diamond when we're out together.

I have friends big into photography, cars and travel. Man, those will wipe you out in no time ($2000 for a camera lens, $5000 "project" cars, airline tickets and lodging are insane)
