Lol, yes, unfortunately that's me. I'm sure my absolute horrible luck will give me a plethora of entertaining and hilarious stories to report to everyone and hopefully give everyone a laugh or occasional cringe as they browse the forum lol. Hey, if I'm known as the "bug in the ear guy "or the "dude with all the funny posts " I'll take that, at least I'm known for something right? Lol thanks!

I am not spider-phobic (or I would have reduced this bad boy into a pile of smoldering confetti) but inquiring minds want to know what I was dealing with.. for future reference.

Almost looks like a type of funnel web maybe? Hard to tell w/o seeing the color/pattern up close. Or a species of wolf spider possibly? Wolf spiders get misidentified a lot ive noticed....

All of you should start mountain biking in wooded areas. You almost get used to planting your face in the center of multiple webs and taking them and the spiders along for the ride.

Lol, ALMOST. Id imagine that's just as bad if not worse than my "face full o' web " in the middle of the night lol. I'm about ready to only hang outside at home after EVERYTHING is so still and frozen solid you can hear a mouse fart on the other side of the bay.... 1.5 miles away. Either that or cut down my beautiful trees and set fire to my whole front yard.

All of nature hates you Chesapeake. You should have figured it out by now. It's because of your most excellent perch on the water. It's jealousy.

I know right? I really think I'm fighting a loosing battle every time I even THINK about putting my rig up lol. Its like I was an exterminator in a past life, and now ive come back to get tormented by the offspring of all the evil hell varmints Ive killed lol. Its comical at this point, and even I have to laugh at just how $#!π¥ my luck is . What's the new catch phrase ? ....... " first world problems " ??? I can't complain honestly though, I'm extremely lucky to have that perch and if I gotta deal with some bugs and blood thirsty rabbid raccoons, then I'll do it gladly .....everyday. But man is it getting out of hand!!!! Lol
