Hi all. My name is Dan and I love to spend as much time as I can in my hammock. I currently own 1 hammock; an ENO single. I have slept in it a total of 10 or 12 nights. I started sleeping in it at my brother and sister-in-laws' cabin. When we get the entire family up there, the cabin has 12 or 14 people in it and your choices are to sleep in a room full of people or go find another spot to sleep (which is what I did with my hammock). I string it between a couple of trees, wrap my ENO bug net around me, string a tarp over the top and sleep like a baby. I'm 6'0", 200 lbs and figure if I can sleep like a baby in an ENO singlenest, I can probably sleep in just about any hammock made. I use a thermarest under me and a cheap Coleman sleeping bag.
On the last trip to their cabin, I slept in the hammock, packed it up and paddled my kayak out to an island about 1/2 mile out from their cabin. The island is tiny and I strung it up on a point with water on 3 sides of me. I hung out there for about 3 hours and it was like heaven. I love to kayak, love to hike and love to read so a hammock is becoming one of my most prized possessions.
I've been reading lots of posts and have figured out I have a lot to learn. Thanks for having me and thanks for all the great information I've read already!
Dan
