Hanging Spopts in Battle Creek, MI

There's a possibility that I may be going to Battle Creek, MI in early August for my adult league baseball team world series tournament. I was wondering if anyone knows of good hanging campsites in or near Battle Creek. If our team makes the tournament, I was thinking of camping for the weekend, instead of paying for a hotel. Thank you for any suggestions!

Fort Custer State Rec. Area is probably your best bet, if you can get a site.

Thanks for the info. I stumbled upon Fort Custer in my searches. They do have one picture for each campsite- which is kinda helpful, but still difficult to tell if the sites have good trees. Do you know of any specific campsites where you may have hung in the past?

I haven't hung there personally but I have some friends who have. I'll try to see if they recall the site number.

Coldbrook park is another option (both rustic and modern options), with a swimming beach and disc golf available, it is halfway between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.

I'd like to stay within 25-30 minutes of the ballpark. The tournament is at CO Brown Stadium- on the North end of Battle Creek.

I don't know the area around Battle Creek super well, but if your looking for very rustic but still drive in Allegan has Ely Lake Campground that I've been to several times.
