I don't know if this has been discussed, taboo or just not a topic of regular conversation but I have noticed a more frequent need to get up in the middle of the night to relieve myself since I started sleeping in the hammock. Shug makes mention of getting up in the night but I do not know his condition being as ancient as he is but this is not something that I did often when sleeping in a conventional bed. Has anyone else experienced the same phenomenon?

It's funny that Shug mentions excitement because in all my years of camping, it's only been since hammock camping that I actually look forward to going to bed.
The peeing is normal. Even though you may feel warm your body is adjusting and compensating and there is more than normal blood flow in your core increasing the amount of filtration your kidneys are doing.

Maybe you are urinating often because you are eating trail food that is high in Sodium which makes your kidneys work over time.
