    Cinch Bugs VS. Cinch Buckles

At the risk of sounding like a total beginner, what are the/is there any differences between cinch bugs and cinch buckles? I can't find any "cinch bugs" on Dutch's site, and I typically use whoopies anyways, so straps and hardware isn't my strong suit. Thanks for any info!

Cinch Bugs (like the new Beetle Buckles) are sliding hardware with hooks; they stay on the strap and allow you to connect a simple continuous loop from a hammock.

Conversely, typical cinch buckles are threaded onto the CLs and stay with the hammock when they detach from the strap.

Thanks for replying kitsapcowboy! Is there a particular reason Dutch doesn't sell Cinch Bugs anymore?

Probably just out of stock? On the other hand I think they've become redundant after the intro of the beetle buckles. I find the beetles are far easier to adjust plus will accomodate the use of a spreader bar for double hanging should you find the need.

I also have the plain stainless steel cinch buckles with out cl as well as Ti cinch buckles. I use the plain jane ss versions in the house by sewing a short loop of webbing between them and your basic tie down hooks. Makes for super quick changes of hammocks and very easy life for the hammock cl's.

For the Ti cinch buckles, I splice double whoopie hooks onto 8" cl's and then larks head to the buckle. The buckle stays on the webbing and the whoopie hook easily clips on/off the hammock cl. This also allows the use of a spreader bar.

Thank you so much for all of the info, this is awesome!

I am out of stock. This month has taken its toll on my hardware supplies and supply chain. It will be two weeks until we get more.

I gotcha, thanks for responding! I know you've probably been asked this a million times, but do y'all have any idea of when wide fabrics will be available again?
