    Costco "Revelation" Summer Top Quilt

I have been planning a summer top quilt made from a Costco throw, and loosely based on the Enlightened Equipment Revelation (standard length, wide). Here is a link to a step by step PDF: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...8&d=1500119616
I would appreciate suggestions, dos, don'ts, etc. I have done the initial thread pulling and am ready to isolate the two 5" by 15" corners, cut them out and move them. I assume that I should use a very short stitch length to prevent down escaping when I start cutting. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Should I go with snaps or sew the foot box? Other possibilities? Thanks in advance.

Attached is a picture of what I am in the middle of. I had good luck increasing the loft/apparent warmth of a Costco bottom quilt by ripping the long seams and forcing the down into much shorter horizontal tubes, so I'm trying the same thing for the top quilt. Essentially a 1x6 square in each bottom corner will become two horizontal baffles in the footbox, and the rest of the quilt will be narrowed to stuff the down in a little better.

Well thought out, and should work great if you are of slim build. Using Enlightened Equipment sizing guidelines, I am 5' 10" tall, 54" girth, and I am an active sleeper, so should go for a regular/wide quilt. 48" width would be a bit snug. Best of luck with finishing your quilt, and thanks for your input.
