Buy underquilt first? (Or TQ?)

I wanted to post this in both forums actually, but figured I'll just do one. Here's the situation:

I have a WBBBXLC DBL 1.1 (on it's way). Right now it's disgustingly hot in the southeast, but I want to get out and try this bad boy as much as possible, and don't want to really limit myself to summer hanging only. My tent setup is an REI Flash 3.4 R-value pad, and an Army issue patrol sleeping bag (40 deg roundabout) and a Western Mountaineering Alpinlite (solid 15-20 deg bag). I also have a Thermarest ZLite pad I layer under my REI Flash in temps under 30.

My initial plan is to use what I have with the hammock now, but given my current equipment on hand, should I buy a UQ first, or a TQ?

My vote would be for an UQ.... you can use your existing sleeping bags with it..

UQ first use your sleeping bag then move into a Quilt later. The Shug has a video on this, and my experience is the same.

UQ is the way I went first. I still do not have a proper TQ, but use Poncho Liner or sleeping bag depending on temps.

UQ first. Use whatever you have already for a top quilt. It may be more bulky & heavier than optimum, but it will work.

There's no substitute for an UQ. It's summer, you're in the humid SE and you can vent an UQ to adjust temperature & ventilation. A pad will have you waking up in a pool of your own perspiration.

Same as everyone else: UQ forst, regular blankets for a TQ will work if you gotta
