    HG under quilt w/ Chameleon...question

I remember seeing someone on the forum complaining about their UQ being uncomfortable due to the shock corded hem of the UQ resting on their feet. I kind of thought, "oh, come on now". Well I am experiencing the same thing thing. It seems that maybe the HG standard width UQ is not wide enough to achieve a diagonal lay?. It seems to stay where it needs to at my shoulder, but, the foot side pulls down quite a bit right at my feet. I have a standard length & width HG UQ, and no matter how I adjust the suspension, I cannot keep the UQ up by my feet. I have tried using a piece of shock from the foot area plastic ring of the UQ up to the ridge line and it works ok, but is not usable with the attached bug net. I am thinking about intstalling a snap or two roughly where the hammock pullouts are, and the other half of the snap on the upper edge of the UQ, but, I don't want to do that if someone else has figured out a better way to address this. Anybody else dealing with this issue or found a solution?
    Thanks

The pressure is a feature shared by all normal underquilts I have used over the years. I never found a mod that fixes this problem. It's not so much that the underquilt doesn't allow you to go diagonal, but that you have to constantly push it in the correct position. Since I'm very sensitive to the cold, I have had to crank the underquilt suspension pretty tight, which didn't exactly help.

A wider underquilt doesn't concentrate the pressure as much on the head and the feet, but you will still feel it. A very wide underquilt can be modded with a clew, but this won't work very well with narrow underquilts. Ideally, the underquilt should be as wide as the hammock.

The only underquilt I know of that solves the problem and that isn't sewn directly onto the hammock body, is the Wooki. After my first night with a Wooki, I knew that I wouldn't be going back to a normal underquilt. I don't switch directions in the hammock, though.

Yeah, the Wookie like like it would do the trick! If I get another, UG (winter weight), I may have to try that. Thanks
