    Hang Suggestion in Northern Vermont

We're heading up to Vermont to stay for a long weekend on a Friday morning but can't get into the cabin until Saturday... was thinking maybe overnight camping/hanging on Friday night instead of getting a hotel or B&B. The cabin is located in Greensboro, but it might be neat to stay near Burlington/Shelburne or Montpelier, to get to explore those areas for an afternoon/evening and morning. (Note: we just stayed in Burlington for 2 nights a few weeks ago and loved it, but might be cool to check out other towns).

Not looking for a private campground unless it has really secluded/wooded sites. Would prefer, if we had to hike in, it only be a few miles since it's just a short overnight.

    Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!

White Rock Mountain to HungerMountain from Middlesex Trail is a fun notso crowded loop, plus I just hiked it and saw a few stealth camping spots that could take a hammock if you want to make it an overnight. Middlesex trail head is located just north of Montpelier off of Rt. 12 in Rumny. Smuggs Notch, Mt. Mansfeild also give good opportunities. A quick and easy, not crowded trail around Mt Mansfeild is Lake Mansfeild Trail to Taylor lodge, (a shelter, really). You could jaunt an extra 2 miles toTwinBrooks tenting area for easier hang spots, but plenty of stealth hanging points anywhere between the 'lodge' and tenting area. This has active beaver ponds, falls, caves, if you take the clara bow spur, and views if you spur off trail up the hill at the lodge.
    Have fun!
