I just ordered a pillow from Jared at Simply Light Designs. Thought about making one, but for $17 shipped I figured why bother.

Yep, I went through the same process as a result of this thread. Looked at the kit and then pulled the trigger on Jared's pillow for just a few bucks more.

I'm in the no pillow camp, but I like something under my neck. I have used a rolled up towel or a small piece of fleece. In colder weather I like a small layer of fleece under my head also for warmth. Hope you find what works for you.

I use a Klymit pillow found here ...https://www.klymit.com/pillow-x.html weighs under 2 ounces and when deflated it is very flat and takes no room in the pack or you can use the stuff sack it comes with. Often found on Massdrop.

I have a down pillow that I cut in half and had sewn up that I use for my head and one that I bring along to place under my knees. Otherwise my neck gets sore and my legs hurt from hper-extension. Sometimes, if I am trying to limit weight/space, I just use a bag and stuff soem clothes in it for one or the other. Or both.

My pillow from Simply Light Designs (Jared) came the other day. It's exactly what I was wanting. Looking forward to getting to use it in hammock soon.

I use a piece of thick fleece material rolled up (about 2.5" thick) behind my neck. This fabric is shock corded and hooked to the SRL with a mitten hook.

I use thick pillows or other gear under and behind my knees when back sleeping.
This setup works great for me every time. I sleep in a hammock every night.

I put my fleece shirt/pull-over (or any other spare clothing) in a nylon stuff sack for my pillow - dual purpose and easy to wash/keep clean.
