    T90/T-90 thread in a Singer 201?

Has anyone tried run T-90 bonded thread in their Singer 201? Specifically VT-92 bonded, polyester thread, recommended needle of #18 or #20. I have an offer on some pretty cheap, but not sure if I can reasonably use it. I'd be using it for stitching through a couple layers of nylon webbing.

I've used T-92 bonded threads with a couple of old "home" machines. Mostly with a Singer 99K (hand cranked).

While you can probably set up your 201 to work with it, there is probably little reason to go to the effort unless you are working with very heavy/strong webbing for a special purpose. Mara 70 can be used to meet or exceed the strength of the 1" webbing we usually use for hammocking and will be considerably easier to work with.

If you do try the T-92, you will most likely need to adjust the bobbin thread tension as well as the usual upper thread tension.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll pass on it.
