DIY Hammock Stand from studs and scraps

    IMG_20170629_152741.jpg

I've been playing around with a way to hang my hammock in my own yard. I have a couple reasonably good trees but they are all by themselves. So I built a bipod from scrap 2x4 studs from a wall I removed from our garage and ran a 1" chain link fence top rail, about 15 feet long from the bipod and one of my trees. It worked. However the location was not all that great so today I made a second bipod and ran the top rail between the two. To give it some end to end stability I put a third 2x4 on each bipod resulting in an odd shaped tripod. The photo shows the result with an EMO Doublenest hammock suspended from it. Whether it gets much use or not it was fun to mess with!

Nice, a little different version of the turtle dog stand... nice to see people are still trying to think out of the box!
