i know i joined on 10-11-2006 .in a few months i will be hosting the 4 th annual mid tn spring hangout at merriwether lewis on the natchez trace pkwy.then in october the 4th annual mid tenn hangout.

I joined in December of 2006, and there were a good number of members that already joined. As many, a convert from the other site (WB), I've really enjoyed the friendships here and of course, the expertise of all.

Four score and seven seasons ago, our Fore-Fathers brought forth upon this continent, a new hammock, conceived in the woods, and dedicated to the proposition that no two hammocks are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil contest, testing whether hammocks or any other hammock gear conceived and so enormous, can break all records. We are met in a hammock-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that, as a final resting place for those who gave their lives that that hammock might thrive. It is altogether fitting and proper that we do this.
But, in a larger sense son, we can not dedicate-we can not consecrate- we can not hallow-this ground. The brave crafters, living and dead, who have struggled here, far above our our poor power to add or detract silnylon quaility. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what we grew here. It is for us the Hammock Forums, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who attempted to make the record winner here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us hammock lovers to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us- that from these honored hammockers we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave their last full measure of growth- that we hammockers here highly resolve that these hammocks shall not have been made in vain- that this Hammock Forum, shall have a new birth of hammocks and that the Hammock Forum of hammockers, by the hammockers and for the hammockers, shall not perish from the earth.
I did not join until Jan 07. But there are so many members who never really post, I bet I am not even close to the first 50. Aren't there about 5000 members? Heck, I may not even be in the 1st 100 or 1st 1000!
Yea. 10-11-06 for me too. The first numbers I remember for Membership was 120. But I don't know when that was.
Seems to me I waited a few days before joining HF mostly cause of needing to go to work or something equally silly.
