Hi, you look pretty new to the forum so welcome!

You'll find from reading around here that for a hammock that's being used for camping and being slept in people prefer them to be between 10 and 11ft long. When laying in the hammock, to get a nice flat lay, you want to be positioned at a diagonal, which works best with a longer hammock. This page has some useful info on the topic - https://theultimatehang.com/2012/06/...mmock-camping/

The hammock you linked to is a very short 8.16ft which is shorter than I would recommend for an adult. I'm 5'8" and love my 11ft hammock.

Yep. Mine is a double wide (6'6") and about 120 inches long from carabiner to carabiner.

for what it's worth, this one is identical to the chinese slowboat knockoff version I picked up for my son to use. it's much sturdier than I expected, and not bad for comfort. it is somewhat short, but for a 5 foot kid, it's just fine

the ropes that come with it are crap, so you'd have to replace those, and it doesn't have proper tree straps or suspension

all in all, you're probably better off getting a starter hammock from:

or any of the cottage vendors here

Agreed on Tikker's post above. though I am partial to the ENO single and doublenest, which are 9.5 ft long. the longer the better.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

That hammock looks way too short to be considered comfortable for anyone over 5' tall. I would definitely look into some other options, as mentioned above.
