I would create a pair of post sized holes out of concrete, possibly lined with sheet metal, so that the post can be placed/removed/replaced as needed.
If the hole is deep enough there would not be a problem with 'slop'.
The posts would not be in the way when not in use.
A Shop-Vac can easily clean the hole.
That is kind of what my thoughts were. Haven't got there yet cause I have nice woods right out my back door. Thought about it for other guys with no trees that I know.

You can get the plastic post sleeves from Home Depot. I've had trouble finding the 4x6 sleeves at our Home Depots though. Then you can place these in the ground and concrete around them which will allow you pull the posts if you do not want them showing.

Holes were 3 ft with a 10 ft post. Sturdy as heck.

So the 7 feet of post above ground at 17 ft span left you how much post to spare? In other words how far are your eyes from the top of the post?

Is this getting into calculations territory? I own a lot of different hammocks but I would want a baseline setup optimized for a RidgeRunner.

Yep. According to the calculator there's more than enough left over for an 11 or 12 foot hammock.

I used the same calculator. I think I'm at 6'7" for my hangers. I have a BBXLC so it's all good. Plenty of room. I really wanted bout 16.5+- but the ground was so hard and the neighbor had an auger to interior dimensions of the posts are 17.1'
I knew I didn't need more that seven feet for my distance, plus when my trees grow in space will be tight for any other type of cover, that's why I'm looking for temporary tarp stuff.
