Are you back packing or car camping? If backpacking the inflatables compress to nearly nothing If car camping then get a memory foam with gel as they tend to stay cool.

I also like and use the cocoon travel pillow. It has one side that is like a microfiber fleece and the other is a nice super cool ripstop. The r value is enough to keep my head and neck warm when it's cold out, but it's never cooked me in warm temps. I also like the adjustability of it being inflatable. I tend to sleep in various positions, so when I'm on my back, I can inflate it just a little, but if I flip over to my side I can put a couple breaths into it and get support for that, too. It packs down to the size of a child's fist and only weighs a couple ounces. I'm a big fan.

good info, need a small pillow, as what I've been using (Poo emoji pillow from Walmart. birthday gift from the kids) is just too big, and warm.

I like the adjust-ability and compactness of inflatables, but they do have a few drawbacks. I tend to sweat a great deal at night so I need a pillow that breathes, and by their nature inflatables just don't. Of the inflatables, we prefer the Cocoon lumbar support. It's dogbone shaped. We put everything in travel pillow cases so they can be tossed into the wash.
A little over a week ago I picked up a down pillow with extra stuffing from LLG. Virtually all of the hammock friendly down pillows I've seen up to this point would squash flat as if there was nothing in them, not this one. My first night with it was on the AT and I've used it nightly since. So far it's been great. It fills the neck area, yet squashes flat enough at the top so it doesn't raise my head. Even in this horrible heat and humidity we're having right now I'm staying cool enough, I'm sure largely due to it's breathe-ability. (Although I did cheat last night by turning on the AC in the hanging room.)
A lot of folks like AHE's Cub Pillow, but I've never had the opportunity to try one.
I've tried several and keep going back to Montbell inflatable. The way they designed the internal baffles, makes it more comfortable, IMO. That makes it easier to keep it under your head, and helps I keep the hammock fabric off your face.

Looking for the pillow solution as well. For now, I have a pillow sack, where I put my unused clothes. In the winter its down jacket, in the summer its t-shirt, and everything that I dont wear in the night. Sometimes problem, if there are no clothes. Have to push myself to solve this.
Dutch argon pillow +1. Soft and light, compresses into the hammock stuff sack, stays cool, it has a loop so it stays connected to my ridge line and never falls out!
Thanks,

I have very little pack space so I use the cocoon hyper lite pillow. Nice size light and comfortable. The most important part to me is the mouthpiece is on the side of the pillow. I used to have the sea to summit pillow but the vent was in the middle of the pillow and I could feel it on the back of my head.
