Yep. Will keep my long pants on and remove the legs only when getting water for the filter.

It's almost a certain to have some ticks there. Seems like every year there seems to be a few more found trying to climb us. Don't forget to spray your packs as well since it will probably have contact with the ground and most certainly rub against the closed in trails.

Thanks to all for the kind thoughts and offers to lead me in on Short. But crazy me needs the exercise and nothing clears the mind like a walk in the woods! Thanks again!!

I don't know how you do it?!? I would never be able to get to sleep in that heat and humidity.
I don't have any issue coming down next January though.

One week to go before we head off into the heat of our craziness.

Please post the location of trailhead and approx time of arrival in case there are new hikers that may want to buddy up. Bring your towel because of... enjoying the pond and frequent unexpected rain.

This is primitive camping to hike out to in the sun, so time to pare down those heavy packs and start dehydrating some good eats.

Plenty of time to show interest and hang in the Florida heat. *confession- I have had to use my UQ on several "No UQ Hangs" in July.* Love the Florida Piney woods.

If you cannot make it out to this hang, but still have the itch to get out before the holidays, (did I just say that?)we will also have a Summer's Last Gasp Hang on the last weekend of September.

Looks like I'm going to hike in from the Pats Island Trailhead. I hope to be at the trailhead before noon.

Greetings from Caracas (Venezuela) Been sleeping in my Byer's Moskito Traveler on the balcony of my mom's condo. In the middle of a national strike and days of blockades trying to oust dictator Maduro. Things really suck here. I thought I'd check to see about upcoming hangs. I return 7/24. Just before I left I bought a new Sherpa from goodwill. Have fun at Puddle Pond. Sandy

Today we head off into the Piney Woods to face the heat of our craziness. Signing up is not required if you want to come out. Throw a light pack together with your mess kit and food and pick a trailhead. See ya there.
