This might work for him. The price is right. That said, he's just lounging in it and using as a camp chair. Not sure how the catenary cut would affect use as a camp chair.

He's looking for something that's about 60 or less for the hammock and suspension. It will be used to lounge in for a week and then probably never used again. The wild horn outfitters and Serak hammocks are along the line of what he's looking for. The wild horn is a little narrow but it would probably work for him for laying around. I'm going to go read up on Serak hammocks - don't know them.
For around 85 bucks your buddy could get a Dutch 11 footer with fixed ridge line, 1.6 Hexon fabric, cinch buckles and 15' straps with Dutch clip sewn in. Ready to go. Buckles and straps for easy of step up.

I think if he used it for a week or so he would have no problem selling it here. He would probable sell it faster and for less of a loss. I believe with a quality hammock from a good cottage vender any vender he may not want to sell it.
    Good luck.

All Dutch has on his website at the moment is the chamelion. I was planning to buy that very same setup for myself but don't see it on his site anymore.

Just looked. I don't find a bargain page on his site. I've bought from him before and was very impressed with his customer service, price etc.

Grand trunk with some ENO Atlas Straps. That will run you about 38 dollars. If it's just for lounging, then this is affordable and comfortable and its perfect for your requirements, I think. :-)

Wildhorn Outfitters 11' hammock system complete with biners and straps. Camo version is the almost 7' wide and is now the most comfortable and lightest hammock I own and did I mention cheapest at $45.

He needs to fix that. Dutch is probably losing sales because of it. You're right, thanks. When you click the category you get many choices but the top level menu gives you only one.

+1 on the Wildhorn Outfitters. Everything you need to suspend right out of the shipping box. The straps are so easy to use my girlfriend wanted them for her hammock.
