    Down filling machine

I've been trying to come up with a better way to fill down quilts and wondered if anyone has been down this road before I spent way too many hours trying to engineer something.

I'm thinking of rigging an old computer fan between 2 pieces of pvc pipe and make a "blow through" designed vacuume to pull down from a comforter, pillow or whatever and blow it into the baffles of a quilt.

Any thoughts or experience trying this before? After one experience of making a complete mess hand stuffing there has to be a better way.

Have you seen the "Shop-vac" method?

I tried that but it was taking forever. I also tried the venturi type blower and I'm still finding down in the garage from that debacle.

I use it to pull an ounce at a time into an extension tube. Then blow it into the baffles... I was too scared to try the Venturi method...

I was getting more like 1/3 oz. I was thinking of trying a lager diameter tube.

    I use this,

If you weigh the pooter before and after, you can accurately transfer down.

I used the "down eductor" on my UQ and it was a pleasure to work with.

Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

Yep, not my creation but it works great. I used a coleman air mattress pump when I did it and it was awesome.
