    Gifford Pinchot national forest Washington

I am making my first trip to the northwest to hike and hang In Gifford Pinchot. I am looking at the boundary trail to Mount Margaret. Has anyone hung in this area before and if so, is it a good spot for hammocks? Looking for input on this or other spots in the park with great mountain views but no intense climbing on the hikes. Thanks Eric.

I am familiar with boundary trail. In mt. margret area this is where the volcano spewed forth. Not ideal for hammocking. There is no trees my friend. I hike the boundary trail but in the Gifford part. Here is a video and a show of the vistas which of course do require hiking. But no climbing.

Thanks for responding. I will check out the vids. Any other places you would suggest?

Basically anywhere NOT in the blast zone. The blast zone is cool, but not for hammocks.

Get a copy of the NWIA trail guide for mt St. Helens. Info is a bit dated but it gives complete trail lengths, elevations, and descriptions for the entire area. Good for planning trips.
