    New advertising?

Is new advertising of businesses not related to hammocks originating from Tapatalk, or Hammock Forums, or both??
It is not fun, for me, to see advertisements while browsing on HF.
That is, advertisements that are not hammock related.

It's obviously Tapatalk because if you click down on the suggested arrow it reveals an option to remove ads. After clicking remove ads you are presented with an offer to upgrade Tapatalk.

Thanks Kroma, is that a free no cost way to remove ads or is there a charge by way of upgrade?

You need to purchase the "full" version to remove ads permanently. It is irritating, I agree, but some nice folks put a good deal of work into software as a job. Constant updating and security patches take time. Time is money, so those folks need to be paid. Either by paying for the software or accepting ads is how they eat. I'll take some ads here and there.
    Cheers,

Thanks Billy Goat, you are right, they need to be paid for their work and expenses.

It's annoying the way they implement it though because the ads show up in the same feed as the posts do and if you're not paying attention you will click it and then be directed to the advertiser's site. I will admit it has hampered my experience a bit and I'm giving consideration to not using tapatalk at all anymore.

by the way it costs 0.99/month, or $5.00/yr, or 14.99/lifetime to "upgrade" to an ad-free experience.

It's worth the 5.00 per year to remove the irritating ads

Unless you plan on using Tapatalk for more than 3 years....then the lifetime option is much better...depending upon your life expectancy

Exactly why it's implemented in that manner

Not my life expectancy that I would question ... life expectancy of mobile apps would be my concern.
