Bumping this link on how to get from parking lot to hanging spot if needed.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

I think I will try to make this one. I'm dying to get some fresh pine scent again...starting to have withdrawal symptoms! Probably arriving Friday late morning.

TallPaul, we gonna miss you. And you and your kids and friends make great trail trip reports. I remember when I watched your video kayaking still waters near the coast--even though it was a video-I thought an alligator was gonna eat you, when you got out to drag boat over tree in water.

Thanks for all the info, folks. We will carry hard copy, and a day or so before we should know what Friday arrival time we are shooting for.

Taco I'll try and shoot for 1pm Friday to follow also. If earlier I'll try and alert here the week of.

Good deal, once you arrive at the parking lot go left to the end and that's where most of us park, a lot more shade in that area.

Is anyone bringing Dutch's new Chameleon? And PapaSmurf's new Raven?
I want to see them both and hear about them from owners.
And Foxpoop, I need to see your new water filter. It's time I learned how to do something---carrying water up the hill could make me inclined to learn something about filtering.
    Only a few more days
What will I forget this time?

Foxpoop and I will both have the BeFree in various configurations.

I'd like to see the Chameleon myself. I'm also looking forward to taking a closer look at Bonefire's setup so I can steal ideas for my own DIY setup

Question: Does anyone have an estimate on how long it takes to climb up and down Looking Glass Rock? I'm toying with bagging that on the way in Thursday before the weekend crowds start.

I will also have the befree filter. I have a bonefire, but I am going to be testing a ridgerunner using raftingtiggers hiking pole. I can bring a few other unique hammocks if people want to try some. I saw the chameleon at trail days, but I would like to see a DH Raven. It is about the only hammock I haven't seen. I wish I still had the Amok for this hang.
    Namely:
1.7 Robic Hybrid XL w/net and quilt window
    Just Bill luxury Bridge Hammock

Looking Glass rock is like a 6.5 mile trip out and back, maybe?
