    Winter hang reviews

I'm a newbie and probably like most other people am learning and working my way through hang gear. I've been looking at youtube vids on cold weather hanging and noticed that these folks are dressed in down or fleece jackets caps and other clothing! They all say they stayed "toasty warm" and gave high marks to their UQ and TQ.
How can they attest to the products with all that extra gear on?
I don't want to sleep naked but I don't want to sleep fully clothed for the artic circle either!

Depends on yor goal of temps. If going below zero, you probably need more clothes. But, with the properly rated quilts, you can sleep "toasty" down to zero with just a base layer. This all depends on if you are a warm or cold sleeper as well.

I winter camp and don't sleep in my down.
There is an art to figuring out how to be warm and right in 0º and below.
Normally I try to be warm when I crawl in the hammock and usually add a down jacket when I get up to pee arounf 4 or 5 AM. Then I am ready to go for "breakfast from the hammock"

It's really not much different than ground camping. If you can sleep on an R4 pad and a 30* sleeping bag in shorts in a T-Shirt in a tent, you "should" be equally comfortable with a full 30* quilt combo.
