Best Hammock for camping with 70lb dog?

I'm looking for some advice on a hammock that would allow me to bring my 70lb golden retriever (Rhia) on backcountry trips with me. I live and camp mostly in the Adirondacks so I need it to be waterproof and bug-proof. I'm a 5'3 female, 150lbs and can comfortably sleep in my Grand Trunk double with the pooch, however the bug netting and rain tarp are quite heavy and bulky. It works well for car camping, however I would love to find something that takes up a bit less space in the pack. I saw other threads regarding dogs and camping, however I couldn't seem to find any information on what hammocks everyone is using. Thanks!

My 100 lb Lab mix doesn't want to have anything to do with a hammock. Prefers to sleep under it.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

In case of possible paw-claw damage, use a really tough fabric. Check with Dutch, PapaSmurf at Dream Hammocks and Ripstopbytheroll. For a fabric that's dog proof--well as dog proof as you can get and still meet your other needs.

I have a 75lb lab and he loves the hammock. I have a 12 foot Hex70XL made by Cedar Ridge Outdoors and it regularly handles 400lbs of man, dog, claws and paws. Getting ready to make a dog raft out of the Hex70 as a matter of fact. Great stuff.

I would definitely suggest the Hex70 and any vendor should be able to accommodate you.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Thanks! I have been looking at Dream Hammocks, they look similar to the Grand Trunk hammocks but with much better bugnet options.

I made a mini bridge type hammock for my dog and suspend it under mine. It keeps him dry and off my quilt. Maybe he just needs his own?
My dog also carries all his own gear and food. No free rides! LOL

Probably not helpful, but I opted out for an Alcott dog tent for my 40lb Border Collie for under my hammock end. Light weight, bug screen, and we don't have to annoy each other with tossing and turning.

    Sure thing.

I own and make a lot of hammocks. I still keep going back to my CRO 12 footer.
