    Now Printing - OutdoorINK Silpoly!

We've been trying to hold off on this announcement to coincide with the release of our new website, but I think if we keep the lid on any longer, there may just be a revolt

So today we're proud and excited to announce the full release of OutdoorINK print on-demand Silpoly. This is first WATERPROOF material option (1.1 oz Silpoly) we've brought you in the OutdoorINK line and perhaps the most significant to date when you consider the sheer number of possibilities it opens.

    -> https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collect...printed-fabric

Hammock tarps are the most obvious. But forget about brown and green. We're talking killer custom camo like Fallen Leaves or Flecktarn. Designer art from members like Kitsapcowboy, Tacblades, JV, and CarterJW. If you're the visual type, maybe it's best we show you.

HANGER12 AND WINTER DREAM12 tarps from UGQ

    OD-INK-COVER.jpg

But the creativity doesn't stop with tarps. Tents (shudder I know), Ponchos, Bags, Zippered Pouches, and the list goes on.

You can already choose from over 100 designs we have live on the site now, and in a couple weeks (I promise we're working hard!), we'll be launching an entire new website with the capability for custom uploads, scaling, changing repeat, plus a visualization engine that allows you to see what your design will look like on the finished product right there on the screen. At that point, the limit to what you can do basically stops with your imagination.

The current price is set at $17 /yd, but please be forewarned that with the release of the new site, this price (as well as others) will be going up. If you already know what you want, now is the time to strike.

We also have a GROWING backlog of OutdoorINK orders as the word has started to trickle out. We'll be announcing Oi Silpoly to everyone outside of HF later today, so ordering sooner rather than later is the best way to avoid a long lead time.

Thanks so much for your ongoing support! We're beyond excited and can't wait to see the projects and products to come!!! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

How does Cowboy's tiger stripe print in silpoly? Does the print repeat?
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

We have not physically printed that pattern in silpoly yet, but it should look fantastic. It has no repeat in the width and a 36" repeat in the length.

Part of the new website will be a visualization engine that allows you to see what the prints will look like. For example, here's what Tiger Stripes White looks like in a winter tarp:

You know what would look really cool? If the zebra stripes pattern was enlarged (or possibly redrawn) to make the zebra's spine along the top of the tarp along the edge of the panel, rather than in the middle. That would look really good, especially with doors pulled in.

The pattern Kyle used in that visualization is actually White Tiger, not Zebra...

I did a Zebra Stripes pattern -- not on the website yet but Kyle has the graphic file -- that has different position variants, scaled appropriate to different applications.

Ideally, I'd like Kyle to be able to print the Transverse orientation for multi-yard runs for projects like hammocks or quilts. Below are examples of 4-yard runs of this pattern in each variant, as one might want to print for a hammock or tarp.

I think two 4-yard runs of the Transverse Zebra Stripes would make an awesome DIY all-season tarp (while keeping the animal hide pattern at a more realistic scale).

(Kyle's new system may actually constrain what is possible (at least without a special order), but my fingers are crossed...)

I actually read tiger stripes in both of the previous posts, but once I saw the picture my mind instantly went to zebra. Sorry to have messed that up. The zebra strips are definitely cool. I agree, the alternating transverse would look really good.

That's a good point about keeping a realistic scale for the animal print. Having the animal's spine at the ridgeline would be cool, but it would probably look a bit out of proportion.
